Cotswolds village benefits from new affordable homes

Six new affordable homes have been built at a small development in the village of Kemble, Gloucestershire.

The keys to the new properties, constructed by Mackenzie Miller Homes, have been handed over and we have already welcomed new customers to the picturesque site.

The development, named Clayfurlong View, offers a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bed homes with 4 properties for affordable rent and 2 for shared ownership. All the homes come with an electric vehicle charging point to help meet future customers’ needs.

Colin Bloodworth, our Director of Development and Partnerships, met with Cottsway Development Projects Manager Sigrid Houston and Mackenzie Miller Homes’ Construction Director Richard Watts and Head of Sales and Customer Care Evangelina Hogan, to look around the homes yesterday (19 July).

Colin said: “We’re committed to doing more to help people in housing need. Cottsway has a growing number of properties in Gloucestershire and these new homes at Kemble will help to provide much-needed affordable housing for the area.

“This is the first time we’ve worked with Mackenzie Miller Homes, and we’re delighted to have partnered with them on this development as they specialise in building homes sympathetic to their surroundings – in this case a historic Cotswolds village. I would like to thank everyone involved in this scheme.”

These six Cottsway homes are part of a larger development by Mackenzie Miller Homes which comprises of 15 properties in total.

Richard Watts, for Mackenzie Miller Homes, said: “As a team we’re very proud of Clayfurlong View; our first development to offer affordable housing. It’s been a pleasure working with Cottsway and we very much hope the new residents enjoy a wonderful future here.”

Clayfurlong View is located near Kemble train station, just four miles south-west of Cirencester. The village has good travel links with easy access to the A429 and regular trains towards Swindon, London Paddington, Gloucester, and Cheltenham.
