Your rent for 2022-23

Like all housing associations, we review our rents annually and your rent payments enable us to manage, maintain and improve existing Cottsway homes.

If you are one of our tenants, your rent will be increasing by 4.1% from April 2022, in line with government guidance.

If you are one of our shared owners, your rent will change according to the terms of your lease.

The government guides any changes in rent made by housing associations such as Cottsway. Their policy states that housing associations can increase their rent by the Consumer Price Index in the previous September, plus 1%.

The Consumer Price Index is a measure of consumer prices, set by the Government’s Office for National Statistics.

The Consumer Price Index in September 2021 was 3.1%

So, the most your rent can increase by in 2022 is 3.1% + 1% = 4.1%

We are writing to all our customers this week to let you know exactly what your revised rent for 2022-23 will be and what you need to do if you receive Housing Benefit or Universal Credit.
