DELAYS TO REPAIRS: We’ve completed many of the outstanding repairs logged with us prior to lockdown and are working hard to clear the remaining backlog. However we are experiencing some shortages in supplies, difficulties recruiting trade staff, and higher than normal levels of sickness absence. Please bear with us – we are completing repairs as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience. For our latest service information, see our Coronavirus webpage

New homes for Swindon in time for Christmas

New residents are moving into our first new affordable homes in Swindon in nearly a decade – just in time for Christmas.

Working in partnership with developer, Keepmoat Homes, we took handover of six properties – five 2-bed houses and one 3-bed, all for affordable rent - at Greenbridge Square this week.

We are West Oxfordshire’s largest housing provider but we also have properties in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, and Wiltshire including Swindon.

Marita Ford, our Development Manager, said: “It’s almost 10 years since we built new homes in Swindon, and this is the first time we’ve worked with Keepmoat Homes - and it’s been great to see the site progress.

“It’s wonderful to be able to provide more much-needed affordable housing in the town and to see our first customers move in just in time for Christmas.”

Greenbridge Square is located near Swindon Rugby Football Club, a short distance to the town centre, the A419 and M4. When complete, Cottsway will offer a mix of one, two, three and four-bed affordable homes on the development –14 for rent and 6 for shared ownership.

In total, Keepmoat Homes is building 134 properties at the site along with open spaces for recreational use.

Charlotte Goode, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat Homes, said: “We have a strong track record of delivering new homes across the country, particularly on brownfield land such as this, breathing new life into the area. The Cottsway homes are on Smiths Lane, named to reflect the site’s former use by WHS Smith’s headquarters.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Cottsway for this first time, to help them deliver affordable homes for those in need. We hope to have completed the remaining 16 properties by spring 2022.”
